It was later renamed to Wyoming in 1829, to be incorporated in 1875. The Village of Newell's Settlement was founded in 1809 by Silas Newell. Wyoming is located on New York State Route 19. The Village of Wyoming lies within the Town of Middlebury by the eastern town line. As of the 2010 census, the village has a total population of 434.
